Since 1970, the bent-shaft paddle has slowly gained popularity among common canoe paddlers. The newer design is extensively used by marathon paddlers due to the bent-shaft's increased power, even with a shorter stroke length. If you want added thrust to your paddling stroke, try a bent-shaft paddle. Our 7 degree model allows for easier steering and slicing ability, as compared to our 14 degree model. Asymetrical grip for ultimate palm comfort.
Bent-Shaft Series paddles are constructed using the 7-layer method for bending paddle shafts. Layered with six strips of clear poplar hardwood surrounding one, centered, strip of premium cherry hardwood. The grip and the blade are made with lightweight, clear cedar and clear poplar hardwood.
All paddles are priced as "varnish only" finish.
Varnish only includes four layers of ultra tough marine varnish (see
About Our Finish) Or choose to add a fiberglass blade wrap to any paddle for $29.95. All fiberglassed paddles are coated three times with ultra UV weather protecting marine varnish.
